Reading God’s Word: Lamentations 4; Psalm 42

Memorizing God’s Word: 1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 42:1-2 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, we find ourselves hungering and thirsting, panting after many things. Our appetites were designed to be satisfied in you, but we go after substitutes. Forgive us Lord. Like a deer that pants after water to satisfy its thirstiness, so our soul was made for you, to pant after you, to thirst for you. Awaken us to that deep thirst for YOU that we get deceived into thinking will be satisfied with sugar coated substitutes. Expose our deceptions. Remind us that nothing else satisfies. Everything else is a substitute. Our soul thirsts for God, the Living God; YOU Lord. You alone. So we recommit ourselves to pursue you today, refusing to settle for anything or anyone else but you. Amen.”
