Reading God’s Word: Acts 22:30-24:27; Psalm 38

Memorizing God’s Word: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Meditating on God’s Word: Acts 24:27 When two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, but because Felix wanted to grant a favor to the Jews, he left Paul in prison.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, none of this was fair for Paul. None of the charges were just, none of the motivations were pure. Even Roman law said Paul must be freed after two years. And yet, there’s a beautiful example for us to follow. When nothing seems fair, you are faithful. When nothing makes sense, you are sovereign. And not just sovereign, but working for our good! Help us to trust you with every moment of our lives, the just and the unjust, because in all of it, you’re at work for your glory. We trust you today, amen.”
