Reading God’s Word: John 2:13-25; Psalm 36
Memorizing God’s Word: John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 36:1 I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, when I read Psalms like this, I am quick to place myself among the righteous. Words like wicked, deceitful, failing to act wisely, plotting evil feel so far from how I would describe myself. After all, I spend time in Your Word, set aside moments for devotions like now, attend church regularly, and pray. Yet when I pause and look more closely, I see my faults brought to light. I recognize pride, impatience, selfishness, and unbelief creeping into my heart. The truth is, we are all sinful people, and when compared to Your holiness, we fall desperately short. But in Your great mercy, You did not leave us in our sin. Out of your great love for us, you gave your only Son who sacrificially gave up His own life for us by dying on a cross so that we could be forgiven, cleansed, and made new. Thank You, Lord, for such undeserved grace. Amen.”
