Reading God’s Word: Matthew 27:11-26; Psalm 67
Memorizing God’s Word: 1 John 1:9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 27:21-22 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, what manner of love is this, that you would lay your life down for another? The crimes that demanded death on a cross… were mine. The criminal the crowds should have shouted to crucify… was me. I’m Barabbas. I’m the death row prisoner that you set free. And what is there to say for such radical love, except thank you! Thank you, Jesus! Thank you! My chains released at such great cost, but no one took your life from you. You freely gave yourself, for love, and all I can say is thank you, Jesus. Amen.”
