Reading God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 8-9; Psalm 74
Memorizing God’s Word: Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Meditating on God’s Word: 2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, you have given me all I have. My very breath came from you. The blood coursing through my body, awakening my mind to your presence, your voice is a gift from you. The dawn and the first birdsong are from your hand. The moon glowing across Lake Erie and the stars poking their sleepy heads from the blanket of night are but one of a bajillion gifts from you. Father, we need your heart. You loved us so much you gave us your son. Convict us, embolden us to become a people who give extravagantly and give cheerfully as you have so graciously given to us. Amen.”
