Reading God’s Word: John 5:1-15; Psalm 40:11-17
Memorizing God’s Word: John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 40:17, “But as for me, I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; you are my God, do not delay.”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord Jesus, would I be found among those who say, ‘The Lord is great!’ You are great, and greatly to be praised. Every day that I draw breath is another day that You have given me! And yet, just as the Psalmist says, I am poor and needy—poor both because of my material needs that press me today, but also because of the little that my heart knows of you. And needy both because of my lack, but also because apart from You I have no good thing. So with the Psalmist, I ask not merely for Your deliverance today, but for You, the Deliverer, to Yourself think of me and come to me. Go before me today and make up for my lack, so that my heart can seek You and find You before the day is done. Amen.”
