Reading God’s Word: 1 Kings 15:1-16:20, Psalm 12

Memorizing God’s Word: Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Meditating on God’s Word: I Kings 15:14b, Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, sometimes I feel so different ~ on the outside. I do not want to talk about people, but there are conversations all around me. I desire a peaceable life, but there is anger and strife at every turn. When I choose to trust you, I can be distracted with all the noise and possibilities surrounding me. I am reminded that you ask that I make it my ‘ambition to lead a quiet life, mind my own business and work with my hands’ (I Thessalonians 4:11) and ‘do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world’ (Romans 12:2). When I submit to you, I can do this. Lead me on a straight path towards you (Proverbs 3:5-6)! ‘Asa (insert your name) did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.’ (2 Chronicles 14:2) May it be true of us! Amen.”
