Reading God’s Word: Matthew 27:11-32; Psalm 28
Memorizing God’s Word: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 27:21-22, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered. “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, what would it have been like to be Barabbas? He was summoned from the prison where he was being held, only to find out someone else was taking his place on the cross. He had earned death, but You took the cross in his place. What an amazing exchange, and what a helpful reminder! Just like Barabbas, I was lost in a prison of my own making—and just like Barabbas, You took the cross so that I could be restored to life. Thank you, Jesus, for taking the cross in my place! Amen.”
