Reading God’s Word:  John 18:1-14; Psalm 72:12-20

Advent Reading:  Day (9) Matthew 1:18-25

Memorizing God’s Word: Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Meditating on God’s Word:  John 18:10 & 11 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) So Jesus said to Peter, â€śPut your sword into its sheath; shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?”

Praying God’s Word:  Lord, in my mind I want to think that I have enthusiasm and zeal for my religion and faith.  When necessary I would like to think I would draw the sword and fight for what Is right.  But your Word reminds me that my purpose Is not to fight for you, but to follow and serve you.  To obey whatever you ask me, your servant, to do.  The battle you want to see won is the battle for a person’s soul.
