Reading God’s Word: Isaiah 14:28-17:14

Advent Reading: Luke 2:1-7

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 40:31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,  they will walk and not be faint.

Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 2:4 (LSB) And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David.

Praying God’s Word: “Father, we are reminded of Your sovereign control over all things in our meditation today. You are over nations, rulers, and all the events of history, and use them all to bring about Your eternal purposes. Micah 5:2 predicted the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, but Mary and Joseph lived in Nazareth. How can that prophecy be fulfilled? By a world-wide census ordered by the Roman Emperor that required Joseph and Mary to return to Bethlehem to be in the right place, at the right time, to fulfill Your word spoken to Micah. Your Word is so sure that You will move the hearts of kings and direct the course of history to fulfill your promises. Amen.”
