Meditating on God’s Word: 1 Samuel 8:19-20 “But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, do I want to look like you or do I want to look like “all the other nations”? I am desperate to know you and be like you, yet so many times I find it hard to just speak your name. This world has such a twisted view of you, would you give me the strength to swim against that current. Let me be the salt of the earth, the light in the dark. I want to be like you, not the other nations. I want people to see me and not see (insert your name) but Jesus. I love you, thank you for loving me. It is in your name we pray, Amen.”
