Reading God’s Word: Mark 15:16-20; Psalm 106:24-48

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 106:44-45 Yet he took note of their distress when he heard their cry; for their sake he remembered his covenant and out of his great love he relented.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, you are faithful, despite my faithlessness.  You are merciful, even when I don’t deserve it.  You are loving regardless of how many times I’ve rebelled and sinned against you.  I am unworthy of your forgiveness, yet you offer it anyway.  Out of your love and mercy for me, You saved me from the power of darkness. That is the heart of the gospel message. I didn’t earn your love and mercy, I don’t deserve it, yet you freely give it through grace. Thank you for being so full of compassion and grace. For making a way when I had no way.  I praise You not as someone who has earned Your love, but as someone rescued by it.  Amen.”
