Reading God’s Word:  Deuteronomy 10-11; Psalm 104

Memorizing God’s Word: Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

Meditating on God’s Word: Deuteronomy 11:16 Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, how many times have I let my heart be enticed by things of this world?  Whether it is money, relationships, success in my career, or even self-image?    How often am I making these into idols and putting them above you?   Lord, reveal those things in my life that I have “worshiped;” that I put on a platform higher than you.   Expose them and bring them to light.  I pray that you would guard my heart and mind so I am not deceived by earthly, fleeting pleasures.  Thank you for your gracious reminders so that I may faithfully and obediently walk with you. Amen.”
