Reading God’s Word: John 5; Psalm 5

Memorizing God’s Word: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Meditating on God’s Word: John 5:24 (LSB) Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Praying God’s Word “Father, life’s greatest question is “How can one be right with God?” In our meditation for today, we are given the answer. We must first hear Your word, which means we need to not only listen to what it says, but do it. Secondly, we need to believe in You, the One who sent Your Son to save us from our sins by His sacrificial death on the cross. By hearing Your word, and believing in You and the revelation You have revealed about Yourself, we can have eternal life. Thank you for making it so easy, as all we need to do is to listen, obey, and believe. Amen.”
