Memorizing God’s Word: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Meditating on God’s Word: John 6:68–69 (LSB) Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. And we have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”

Praying God’s Word: “Father, when the crowds abandoned Your Son and returned home, He challenged the disciples with the question, “Are you going to leave also?” Peter’s response is direct and to the point – there is nowhere else to go and no one else to turn to for eternal life! The world today likes to believe there are many paths back to You, but You have made it clear in Your word there is only one way, and that is through Your Son, Jesus Christ. He alone has the words of eternal life, and anyone who wishes to be saved from their sins must come the way of the cross. May we not be ashamed of the exclusivity of the Gospel, but proclaim it boldly, as in the end, there is only one path to eternal life. Amen.”
