Reading God’s Word: Luke 10:38-42; Psalm 137
Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 10:41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things
Praying God’s Word: “Lord, what are we worried and upset about today? What are we carrying from yesterday, engaged in today or anticipating tomorrow that has us in a frenzied tizzy? Martha was worried and upset while you were right there in her presence. Remind us today, you are here, with us. We are in your presence. We need not be worried and upset about anything because you are here with us. May we choose the better way of recognizing the wonder that you are with us and sit at your feet and listen to what you have to say. And may listening to your words convince us to take the things that worry us or upset us and place them at your feet, thus putting into practice what Martha called you in v. 40 but did not live out: “Lord”! You are Lord. Amen.”
