Reading God’s Word: Luke 12: 13-21; Psalm 142
Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 23: 3-4 He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Meditating on God’s Word: Luke 12:15 (ESV) And Jesus said to them (the crowd). “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness (greed), for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
Praying God’s Word: Lord, almost all of us reading this live in the richest country in the world. Help us and remind us that we need to accumulate spiritual wealth, not possessions. I want to put as much thought and effort into serving you as I do into my 401k and the new car I am dreaming about. I want to have lots more trust in the Holy Spirit, than in my retirement account. Amen.
