  1. Name an area in life (could be at your job, in the home, a hobby, etc.) where you feel you have learned or mastered most of the skills necessary to be successful in that area. What are some of those skills you had to learn?
  2. Read Jesus’ illustration in Matthew 7:24-27 and James’ summary of the same point in James 1:22. How are these verses similar to the phrase in the sermon, “you haven’t learned it until you’re doing it”?
  3. The biblical concept of learning captured in the phrase “you haven’t learned it until you’re doing it” doesn’t apply to every area or field in life, but it does to many. What other areas in life or fields of work would you say it does apply?
  4. Of the 10 skills of a disciple mentioned in the sermon, which one do you feel the most confident in, feel you’re strongest in?
  5. Which one do you feel least confident in, weakest? What can you do to get stronger in that skill?
  6. When Pastor Jim said “if you have 3 or more ratings of Intermediate or Advanced, that is an indication that you are probably ready to disciple another person,” do you remember how you felt at that point?
  7. If you had training in how to disciple another person, are you ready to obey Jesus and trust God to help you “go make disciples”?
