Sermon Notes

Jesus is Coming
“Relationships in the End Times”
1 Thessalonians 5:12-15

While we wait for Jesus to return, don’t ignore relationships in the church.

  1. The leaders’ relationships with the church: Work hard to lead well
    • Work hard among the people
    • Lead in a caring, loving way
    • Lovingly warn, correct error, and instruct
  2. The people’s relationship with the leaders: Honor your leaders
    • Know/appreciate/honor them
    • Hold them in the highest regard
    • Love them
  3. Everyone’s relationship with each other: Patiently care for one another
    • Live in peace with each other
    • Admonish the unruly
    • Encourage the discouraged
    • Help the weak
    • Be patient with everyone
    • Practice the Golden Rule

The way we do relationships in the church speaks volumes to a watching world.

Core CHRISTlike Characteristic: Relate with Other-Centered Love/Loving People
