LifeGroup Questions: Applying the Teaching to Your Life
Did you have a favorite teacher growing up? Tell the group about her/him.
What are the qualities and characteristics of a great teacher?
A dilemma is a difficult decision between two opposing choices; tell your group of a recent dilemma you were in.
In Jesus’ day, “you have a demon” often meant “you’re a lunatic.” Read vv. 19-20. Does this sound like an overly strong reaction? Why do you think they said this?
Read Matthew 7:28-29, then vv. 24-27. What is the famous sermon Jesus had just concluded? How does being “amazed” or “moved” by a teaching get substituted for putting it into practice?
Is there any area of your life where you “like how Jesus teaches” but have been unwilling to do what he says?
