Jesus is Coming
“Iconic Living”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-22

Iconic Living Internally:

  • Joyful = ALWAYS ⇐ God’s
  • Prayerful = CONTINUALLY ⇐ will for YOU
  • Thankful = ALL circumstances ⇐ in Christ Jesus

⇑Iconic Living Corporately:

  • As we are joyful, prayerful, thankful together
    • We avoid:
      • Being firefighters of God’s Spirit,
      • Disregarding prophecy
    • We invite:
      • Diligent testing & proving
      • Testing everything
    • The final and authoritative prophetic Word is Jesus as revealed in the Bible and against which all other “word’s from God” are tested and proved! (Hebrews 1:1-3)

Iconic Living in the Community:

  • As we are joyful, prayerful, thankful in the world
    • Test everything
    • Hold on to the good
    • Reject ALL evil – every form

“For to worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open up the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God.” – William Temple

Holy, holy, holy
Lord God almighty
Early in the morning my song shall rise to thee
Holy. holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons, blessed Trinity

Holy, holy, holy
All the saints adore Thee
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea
All the cherubim and seraphim are falling down before Thee
Which wert and art and evermore shall be

Holy, holy, holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eyes of sinful man Thy glory may not see
Lord, only Thou art holy and there is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, in love and purity

Holy, holy, holy
Lord God almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea

Holy, holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
You are God in three persons, blessed Trinity
You are God in three persons, blessed Trinity
Oh, God in three persons, blessed Trinity
