Reading God’s Word: Matthew 26:36-46; Psalm 62

Memorizing God’s Word: 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Meditating on God’s Word: Matthew 26:40-41 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, the night before Jesus would give His life, battling through the fiercest attacks of the enemy, overwhelmed with sorrow, pleading with the Father, and Peter… slept. His flesh was so weak, and so is mine. I’m far too prone to a lethargy of soul. Let me hear these words today and come ready for battle: Watch and pray. Help me watch for every scheme and attack of the enemy in my life, to walk in obedience to you, and to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.”
