Reading God’s Word: Mark 14:43-52; Psalm 104:16-36

Memorizing God’s Word: Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Meditating on God’s Word: Mark 14:44 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard.”

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, Judas Iscariot will always be referred to as the “betrayer.”  One of the twelve disciples who was chosen to walk with you, be taught by you, and privileged to hear your voice directly.  Yet he still turned from you and chose darkness over light. How easily we judge and point fingers at him and others while we ourselves betray you on a regular basis.  Not with a kiss, but with our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Yet you still call us friend. You still willingly gave yourself over to the crowds and took on the punishment we deserved. What selfless love you have for us. I am forever grateful and so unworthy of the unfailing mercy and grace you continuously bestow upon me. Amen.”
