Reading God’s Word: Exodus 12:1-30; Psalm 37

Memorizing God’s Word: Psalm 40:4 Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Meditating on God’s Word: Exodus 12:13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

Praying God’s Word: “O God, what a humbling reminder. Exodus 12 confronts us with the reality of sin, that sin will always be judged by a holy God, and the only thing that can separate us from this judgement is the blood of the Lamb. When John cried out, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (Jn 1:29), he thought of this moment, the first Passover, and the miracle of salvation for all of God’s people. There can be no forgiveness without the blood (Heb 9:22), and the blood must be perfect – a spotless lamb. Only in Jesus could we find such perfection. Thank you, Jesus, for your blood; thank you, thank you, thank you! In your holy and spotless name, Amen.”
