Welcome to Guest Services Team Resource Network
You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That’s why he sent Christ to make us what we are.
– Ephesians 2:8-10 CEV
When we welcome anyone into our homes, we see them as a guest and want to serve them and connect with them. At Open Door, we are honored to welcome guests into God’s home, a place where reconciliation, healing, salvation, community, encouragement, and so much more happens! We invite you to come and share in this journey of leading people into the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ every Sunday at any of our campuses (Elyria, Avon Lake, Vermilion, or Lorain).
As a Guest Service teammate, you will experience on-site training and flexible scheduling, receive a red logo’ed team tee shirt, name badge, and lanyard along with other tools. We want to give you the best experience for welcoming people to our campuses so they can know God better and take a “next step” toward His purpose for their life. In serving on this team, you just may find you have taken that very step in your own life!
Reach out to a Guest Services team member, the campus pastor, or host pastor any Sunday and join the Guest Services team at one of our four locations, because we can say with confidence, “You Belong Here.”
If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen
– 1 Peter 4:11 NIV
The most important question to ask as a church is: “Who are we here for? How long we’ve been around as a church, how much experience we have, and what we call ourselves is largely irrelevant to a guest. When they show up this weekend, they simply want to know that we anticipated their arrival, we care about their experience, and we want them to return.”

Serve Card and Coaching
Our guests are our most important priority on any Sunday. Our focus and attention on them shows them genuine love and welcomes them to experience a growing relationship with God. We continue connecting with our guests so we can help them discover their next step. In July, the Serve Card was introduced as a tool for our guests (whether first time or long time) to discover where they might serve in the Body of Christ. The emphasis is one that will continue, and so we must be prepared to answer any questions that our guests have with clarity. I have included a link to the training Pastor Jim did to help cast the vision for this ongoing initiative. After you have completed the video, I invite you to text 440-315-6292 so I can set you up with a Serve badge.
