Welcome to Guest Services Team Resource Network

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

When we welcome anyone into our homes, we see them as a guest, want to serve them and connect with them. At Open Door, we are honored to welcome guests into God’s home, a place where reconciliation, healing, salvation, community, encouragement…and so much more happens!  We invite you to come share in this journey of leading people into the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ every Sunday at any of our campuses (Elyria, Avon Lake, Vermilion, or Lorain).

As a Guest Service teammate, you will experience on site training, flexible scheduling, receive a cool red logo’ed team tee shirt, name badge and lanyard along with other tools. We want to give you the best experience for welcoming people to our campuses so they can know God better, and take a “next step” toward His purpose for their life. In serving on this team, you just may find you have taken that very step in your own life!

Reach out to andrea@opendoor.tv and join the Guest Services team at one of our 4 locations, because we can say with confidence, “You Belong Here.”

WORD Wisdom

“By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God.”
Matthew 5:16 MSG

Hospitality means primarily the creation of a free space where the stranger can enter and become a friend instead of an enemy.”  – Henri Nouwen

Communion Sunday is a highlight each month as we gather to share in one of the most meaningful traditions of the worldwide Church. Since July, we have been distributing disposable communion sets as our guests enter the auditoriums. Sometimes our guests may come in after the service has started, or for some reason miss the distribution of the elements. One solution is for you as a Guest Services teammate to take two of these sets with you into the service. Then when that part of the service comes, If you notice a guest looking like they don’t have the elements, and they are nearby, hand them one of the spares you have. Maybe that means you give up your communion elements if their family has that need. Of course, it’s even better to notice what our guests may have in their hands/area as we greet them in the auditorium on those Sundays and deliver the elements before the service starts.  Just another way to say we care!

Guest Services Lead People in the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ by making sure everyone is greeted, most people are connected and all people are loved through God’s amazing love. We encourage serving like Jesus, taking next steps and helping others do the same.
