Welcome to Guest Services Team Resource Network
You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God’s gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own. It isn’t something you have earned, so there is nothing you can brag about. God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. That’s why he sent Christ to make us what we are.
– Ephesians 2:8-10 CEV
When we welcome anyone into our homes, we see them as a guest and want to serve them and connect with them. At Open Door, we are honored to welcome guests into God’s home, a place where reconciliation, healing, salvation, community, encouragement, and so much more happens! We invite you to come and share in this journey of leading people into the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ every Sunday at any of our campuses (Elyria, Avon Lake, Vermilion, or Lorain).
As a Guest Service teammate, you will experience on-site training and flexible scheduling, receive a red logo’ed team tee shirt, name badge, and lanyard along with other tools. We want to give you the best experience for welcoming people to our campuses so they can know God better and take a “next step” toward His purpose for their life. In serving on this team, you just may find you have taken that very step in your own life!
Reach out to a Guest Services team member, the campus pastor, or host pastor any Sunday and join the Guest Services team at one of our four locations, because we can say with confidence, “You Belong Here.”
Be sure to welcome our friend Phoebe in the way of the Master, with all the generous hospitality we Christians are famous for. … Help her out in whatever she asks. She deserves anything you can do for her.
– Romans 16:1-2 NLT
‘Welcome. That’s quite a word. What does it really mean? How does a good welcome come about in your church? It’s not the staff and those that plan the service. It’s those purposefully serving on the guest services team that make the best impression, that help guests feel most welcome. It’s their posture, their passion for people and the personal interactions that speak the loudest, “welcome, you are loved here” to our first time guests.

We are all looking forward to seeing each other’s maskless faces, aren’t we? We have been so used to coming just before the service starts and leaving right after the service ends. Times are changing. This is a great time to help our guests get reintroduced to Elyria CrossRoads! Engage our guests as you walk toward this space. A large “community table,” comfy chairs, and couches await. Our delicious Open Door blend fresh brewed coffee is brewing (free for first-time guests, though all donations go to our coffee bar ministry)! Strike up a conversation with a first-time guest and help them see the benefit of connecting.
