Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Meditating on God’s Word: James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Praying God’s Word: “Lord, I must confess, it’s so easy to listen to your word, whether in my devotions or in a worship service. And it’s easy to think that I have done what you want me to do. But I fool myself when I forget there is more to being your disciple. I need James’ reminder that true listening results in doing. I need his reminder that faith without works is dead. Help me to be like Jesus, who went about doing good. Amen.”
