Reading God’s Word: 1 Chronicles 29; Psalm 51
Memorizing God’s Word: Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 51:1 (ESV)Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
Praying God’s Word: “Father, David in his great sin of adultery and murder has no offering that he can give to cover that great transgression. Instead, he appeals to your steadfast love and mercy. We often think that we are not as bad as we really are, and it is easy for us to believe that somehow, we are deserving of forgiveness and mercy because of who we are. Yet that is not the case at all. Rather, the forgiveness and mercy we receive when we repent of our sin and acknowledge our guilt is because of Your love and mercy. Thank you for being a merciful and loving God who forgives all who approach Your throne of grace and humbly asks for mercy and forgiveness. Amen.”
