Reading God’s Word:

Acts 2:37-47, 3:1-11; Psalm 97

Memorizing God’s Word:

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
– Philippians 2:3

Meditating on God’s Word:

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
– Acts 2:42 (ESV)

‬‬‬Praying God’s Word

Father, what an example we have in our passage today. In it we read the early church focused on four things we all need to be a healthy believer. We need the teaching from the Word of God – the word of man will not substitute for a word from you. We need fellowship, we need to be around other believers to be encouraged and strengthened in our daily lives. We need to break bread together, again a reminder not only of communion, but of life together. And finally, we need to devote ourselves to prayer to find the strength and wisdom we need each day. Help us to devote ourselves to these disciplines as they did in the early church. Amen.
