Reading God’s Word: Luke 23:26-49; Psalm 73
Memorizing God’s Word: John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Meditating on God’s Word: Psalm 73:25-26
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Praying God’s Word
Lord, what wonderful words You have directed in the Psalms! Heaven, in all its splendor, is nothing apart from You. To know You is eternal life. Keep heaven; give me Jesus! And this earth, in all it’s beauty and brokenness, contains nothing of value, nothing that can bring life and joy and peace. You alone are good. Nothing else will satisfy me! Not the continuation of this earthly life, and not the preservation of my inner self, my soul. My flesh and my heart will fail. But if I have You, Father, and if You uphold me, then even though I lose everything, I can consider it gain. You are all I want. Amen.
