Open Door’s Response to the COVID-19 Health Crisis

June 2, 2021

In line with the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Health, Church of the Open Door has removed all recommendations for wearing masks and social distancing at Open Door.

We agree with the statement by Governor DeWine that “every Ohio citizen will make their own decision about wearing a mask, social distancing, how to protect themselves and when, for them, those actions are appropriate.” But we also want to remind and encourage each other to be respectful of the decisions that others make about their health and safety.

May 15, 2021 Update

By now you have probably heard the announcement by Ohio Governor DeWine on Wednesday that the Ohio Department of Health will lift all the remaining pandemic health orders currently in place on June 2. We were also excited to hear that news and will abide by those guidelines on that date!

Leading up to June 6, we are implementing other changes as we continue the process of bringing back elements of Open Door that we’ve all missed. You will see changes as we open up sections of our campuses and resume ministry activities in the coming weeks. The current details are listed below.

We appreciate the sacrifices you have made and the patience you have displayed over the past 15 months as we have endured this pandemic together. We give glory to God and enthusiastically look to the future to see where He will lead us as we continue to Lead People in the Adventure of Becoming Like Christ!

Crossroads

Crossroads are open at all campuses. You are welcome to gather with others or hang out.

Coffee Bar

We are reaching out to volunteers now in order to resume coffee service and to open the Coffee Bars back up. We don’t serve coffee just to serve coffee, but to create an environment where people can comfortably gather with others. The Coffee Bar teams are working on getting things in place to reopen. When they are ready to go, service at each campus will resume.

Open Door Kids

We are ready to resume Kid’s Ministry in full, as we have been for months, including offering Open Door Kids during both worship services each Sunday. Because Kid’s Ministry is highly dependant upon volunteers to serve each Sunday, we will continue to offer Open Door Kids during one worship service until volunteer numbers increase to safely support Kid’s Ministry during both worship services.

Use the Get Connected button to contact our Open Door Kids Team and serve.

Masks & Social Distancing

Effective on June 6, we encourage everyone attending Chuch of the Open Door to make their own decision about wearing masks and social distancing based upon the health & safety status of their own family and their comfort with gathering with others.
