Luke Mannion

Student Ministry Director – Avon Lake Campus

Luke was first drawn Church of the Open Door because we are a church with a simple mission and effective methods by which that mission is accomplished in the community. Luke is currently the Director of Student Ministry at the Avon Lake Campus, and is excited to lead our students in the adventure of becoming more like Christ and to empower them to do the same in their schools and communities. He believes that the Lord has called him to mentor the fathers, mothers, influencers and leaders of the near future and he is so grateful to be able to do that at Open Door.

Luke grew up in a missionary/church planting family, so ministry has always been the center of his life. For his family, that lifestyle also included a good amount of moving and engaging with various cultures; he has lived in 15 different homes in 6 states and 2 countries (United States and Uganda). Through all of that relocating, Luke served as a worship leader, young adults ministry coordinator, small group leader, and youth group leader in many different churches. In 2011, Luke chose to study Christian Ministry at Regent University in Virginia Beach because he felt God stirring his heart toward ministry.

After graduating in December of 2015, Luke decided to make another move from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA (where he lived for the majority of his life) to the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio in order to pursue a relationship with his then fiancée, Lauren, whom he married this past November.
